Utility-scale Pilot Project Solar Array
over the I-10 Level Top Canal


The I-10 Level Top Canal Solar project is currently in pre-construction review on the Gila River Indian Community canals. The project is developed by the Pima-Maricopa Irrigation Project P-MIP with funding support by US Army Corps of Engineers. The project is currently in phase-one construction stage at 876 kWdc nameplate size. The project is located along the I-10 freeway, south of Phoenix, just outside the Wild Horse Pass Casino. Future phases of work involve covering the Casa Blanca canal at 16 miles which would result in a 33 MWdc nameplate project size. The Solar River project design and patent by Tectonicus and prime engineer is George Cairo Engineering, construction by USACE.
